Bell Celebrity Skate & Swim!!!

Sault Ste. Marie…Many groups in our community will benefit from the 14th annual Bell Celebrity Skate and Swim in support of Rotary Youth Projects presented by Cross Country Automotive Services set for Monday, November 17 at the John Rhodes Community Centre from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Pledge forms are available from the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie office or online at www.rotarysault.com.

Admission is a minimum of $25 per skater, but participants are encouraged to bring in more donations, as there are incentive prizes for the highest fundraisers as well as for teams/groups.

Participants can either swim or skate, or do both.

Celebrities for the skating portion of the evening will be the Soo Greyhounds, who have decreased the number of public appearances for 2008-9.

Individual fundraisers can also win one of two Wii gaming systems donated by Cross Country Automotive Services and one of five Roots watches donated from Savoy’s Jewellers as well as a bicycle donated by Canadian Tire, a Marty Turco autographed Dallas Stars jersey, a Mike Fisher autographed Ottawa Senators jersey, a Chris Thorburn autographed Atlanta Thrashers jersey, a team autographed Greyhound jersey donated by the Soo Greyhound Hockey Club, a team autographed Lakers jerseys donated by the LSSU Lakers and one of eight backpacks donated by Bell Canada.

Each individual who brings in a minimum of $100 will receive a voucher for a free ticket to a LSSU game and those raising $120 or more will also receive one free ticket to a movie at Galaxy Cinemas.

Teams/groups have incentives as well.  If at least five members of the team/group participate, the Rotary Club will donate half of the monies raised by the team/group back to them for their fundraising purposes.  In addition, the top fundraising team/group will receive an hour pool rental at the Rhodes and pizza supplied by Brody’s Sports Bar & Grill.

All teams/groups who raise a minimum of $500 will receive a team pizza party courtesy of Ricardo’s Big Slice Pizza and bowling from Churchill Plaza Lanes.

Last year 420 participated raising over $38,000 in total, of which over $15,000 went back to participating groups.  Take advantage of this opportunity by gathering pledges and get the chance to win great prizes!
